About me
I have been truly fascinated by graphic design for about a year now. Completing my foundation year has only strengthened my love for the subject and prepared me for the step up to undergraduate level.
Manchester is one of my favourite citys and the fact that it offers such an exciting Graphic design course is great. The studio based start to the couse combined with contextual programme is a very appealing start to the course and the progress through the years is very smooth. The endless opportunities that are available to me once I graduate really excite me.
I have always been interested in MMU and now that I've chosen a career with such a strong course at the university i'm very excited to apply.
They story of Burglar Bill
Telling a story without using words was a very challenging task, but I definitely enjoyed the challenge of moving away from type and just focusing on imagery. After exploring the use of shapes and colour I decided to make it more obscure but still holding a theme throughout; here i've used kitchen 'flavours' like the salt & pepper, spices and stock cubes.
Everything's not just black and white...

'they say taupe is very soothing'
Using a quote from Ocean's Eleven; 'they say taupe is very soothing'. Working with typography, imagery and composition. For this project we started with just our chosen quote and 10 Type faces to work with. As the project grew I began to incorporate imagery in preparation for creating an opening credits scene to a film.
Some of the original compositions.

What is Drawing?
After doing a vast amount of research on 'What is Drawing?', I decided to follow this line of enquiry.
The out come
Protest
During my gap year whilst working in London I decided to go out and document the Student protest along whitehall and on Parliament Square. It was a fascinating event to witness and I was very pleased with my documentation of the event.
With a magnifying glass...
Studying a twig with a magnifying glass and responding. This was a small project that I really enjoyed and I found it fascinating to see so many objects up close.

Mark up
For this short project we were asked to increase the value of the item we were assigned, after investigating numerous way to do this I decided to increase the value by associating it with a well known brand; Coca-Cola.
Whats you number?
After being randomly assigned a number we have to represent our personal number in a way without use the actual figures. 28.
